About the Job
The Leasing Consultant is the first point of contact for the apartment community. This position is responsible for all interactions with prospective and current residents. With the goal to achieve maximum occupancy and maintain communication throughout the tenancy of the resident, the Leasing Consultant will perform the following duties and meet the following criteria:

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Greets all guests that enter the community with professionalism and a friendly upbeat attitude.
  • Provides information about the apartments and the community to the prospective resident. Schedules tours with prospects, updates/maintains wait list, and performs effective follow up with all prospects.
  • Leases apartments at an acceptable percentage of total prospects.
  • Explains all lease and community policies to new and current residents.
  • Prepares and assists with all leasing paperwork (i.e., applications, lease agreements and addenda, employment and credit checks, and lease move in packets).
  • Communicates/Maintains changes in unit leased status on Make Ready board.
  • Completes service requests and communicates to the maintenance staff.
  • Schedules appointments with vendors as needed (i.e., renewal carpet cleans, alarm service calls, etc.)
  • Understands and retains knowledge of all aspects of the community, particularly in areas such as rent and pricing information, vacancies, apartment availability, lease expiration, square footage, etc.
  • Understands and follows state landlord-tenant Fair Housing laws and standards and receives and maintains appropriate certifications.
  • Must have the ability to take detailed notes with step-by-step instructions in order to independently complete new tasks.
  • Prepares monthly market surveys to analyze the real estate market trends and conditions in the area.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with current and potential tenants.
  • Conducts follow-up activity with all residents in order to establish positive resident relations and retention.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintains a positive, professional, productive relationship with tenants and co-workers.
  • Assists in day-to-day operations of the property management company.
  • Speaks with and providing direct communication with residents and sending notifications when needed.

Requirements:
  • Proven work experience in property management field and or customer service experience.
  • Available Weekends - Open 7 days per week.
  • Basic mathematics skills necessary.
  • Skilled in MS Office and relevant databases and software (MRI residential software a PLUS).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills necessary.
  • Individual must enjoy dealing with people, have outstanding customer service skills. Weekend hours required based on occupancy numbers.
  • Driver's License. 
  • Reliable Transportation.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
